The dealing with governments...

The process of getting a valid travel document for a baby born in Singapore, daughter to a China nationality and Malaysian.
Birth date 03-Nov-2009.

1. Register birth - obtain birth certificate from ICA.
- Done on 05-Nov-2009. 2 days after the baby's born. Can be done at the hospital's counter, with a hugh premium ($18 if do at ICA, hospital charge $39)

2. Submit new passport application to China embassy. [Visit 1].
- Submitted on 19-Nov-2009. Requested a letter to request statutory declaration from Malaysia High Comm.

3. Obtain a letter from China embassy to request statutory declaration from Malaysia High Comm. [Visit 2].
- Letter is done and collected on 20-Nov-2009.

4. If you are early on (3), can submit the letter to Malaysia High Comm the same day (before 11am). [Visit 3]
- Went to Malaysia High Comm the same morning. Was told needing these documents:
> Child birth cert
> Parent's IC (Msia & Singapore PR)
> Parent birth cert
> Parent's passport
> Singapore marriage cert
> Malaysia marriage birth cert (Fuck if you do not have one. Save your breath from arguing with them.)
- Since we didn't register our marriage with Malaysia, we are forced to do that. Have to ask the wife to come down and complete the marriage registration. The processing take 7 days. Late penalty $70.

5. Go collect the Malaysia marriage cert in the afternoon [2-3pm]. [Visit 4]
- Collected the marriage cert on 02-Dec-2009. Made a copy.

6. Submit the statutory request letter the next day. [Visit 5]
- Submitted the statutory request documents on 03-Dec-2009, 8am. Made to hand-write 3 copies of declaration. The lady tried to be nice and explained that the consular section only certify the statutory declaration, the letter will be issued by immigration department. She offered to get the statutory declaration done by afternoon and asked me to prepare another set of the same documents for the immigration department. Well and fine. $15.

7. Get the declaration from Msia high comm. [Visit 6]
- Collected the certified statutory declaration on 03-Dec-2009, 3pm and submitted it over to immigration counter.... (now why it cannot be done internally I've no fucking idea).
Issued collection slip for 07-Dec-2009.

8. Collect the letter??? [Visit 7]
- Tried to collect the letter on 07-Dec-2009, 3:30pm. Was told by immigration section to go collect at consular section. Then the consular section asked to collect at immigration section. (Shit. This is so fuck up). After some retarded argument, the consular staff told us that the high commission no longer issue no fucking letter. The handwritten certified statutory declaration is all they produce. So much of 1Malaysia performance now.... NOW THE NEXT TIME SOMEONE OVER THE COUNTER TRYING TO BE NICE, YOU BETTER BE FUCKING SCARED.

9. Submit the declaration to China embassy. Passport processing will take 10days. By that time, already late for the 42days requirement for a visa. So request for a letter from China embassy to extend the stay. [Visit 8]

10. Get the letter from China embassy. Submit it to ICA to get extension. [Visit 9]

11. Collect China passport. [Visit 10]

12. Submit PR application to ICA. [Visit 11]
